Description

Lake House Cottage is a late 18th or early 19th century cottage located in Clun, Shropshire. It is constructed from limewashed coursed limestone rubble, with a corrugated iron roof. The cottage follows a 2-room, end lobby-entrance plan. It is a single storey building with a gable-lit attic. A stone end-stack is integral to the west side. The south front features a 2-window facade with 2-light wooden casements dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. A boarded door is positioned on the left side. A projecting bread oven, covered by a lean-to corrugated iron roof, is located at the left-hand gable-end. Weathering visible at the base of the stack suggests the possibility of a former thatched roof.
