Description
Green Cottage is a late 18th or early 19th century cottage, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble, with a concrete tile roof featuring rounded red brick coping to the left gable end. The original plan comprised two rooms. The cottage has two storeys. Windows are located to the left and right of the central boarded front door, which is sheltered by an open gabled timber porch. The first-floor windows are small, leaded casements with concrete lintels, while the ground-floor windows are 19th-century casements with wooden lintels. A prominent stepped external end stack with a stone base and red brick shaft is situated on the right, and an integral end stack with a red brick shaft is located on the left. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. A 20th-century addition to the rear is not considered to be of architectural significance.
