Description
Corner Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is built of roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a concrete tile roof. The cottage is two storeys high. There are windows on either side of a late 20th century gabled stone porch located to the left of the centre. Below the eaves, there are small 19th century casement windows, a three-light chamfered mullion window to the right on the ground floor, and a 20th century metal casement window with a concrete lintel to the left. A straight joint is visible immediately to the right of the porch. The cottage features integral end stacks with red brick shafts, with the left stack being quite small.
Inside, there are large inglenook fireplaces that include a bread oven, although the open fireplace has been filled with a range. The interior also has a winder stair, a small stone fireplace in one of the bedrooms, and an old roof structure.
