Description
Foscote Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is built of roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a concrete tile roof. The cottage has two storeys and an attic. It features chamfered mullion windows with dripstones throughout, including two 2-light windows on the first floor and two 3-light windows on the ground floor, all of which are early 20th century except for the upper left window. There are additional 20th-century mullion windows in the gable ends, along with an infilled opening to the attic in the right gable end. The roof slope includes two 20th-century flat-roofed dormers. The integral end stacks have been rebuilt in the 20th century. A late 17th-century 2-light mullion window is located at the rear on the first floor. There is also a single-storey 20th-century range at right angles to the rear, which is not of special architectural interest. The cottage is included for its group value.
