Description
Lake House is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 16th or 17th century, with remodels occurring in the 18th century and mid-to-late 19th century, marked by the initials FAB on the right-hand gable. The building is probably timber framed and was refaced in 1737, with parts possibly rebuilt using rendered rubble. It features a graded slate roof and is designed in an H-plan with gabled cross-wings. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a 19th-century brick stack located behind the ridge, slightly off-centre to the left above the door. The front of the house has three windows, which are 19th-century four-pane sashes. To the left of the main range, there is a six-panelled door, with the bottom two panels being flush and the top panel glazed, surrounded by a pilastered frame and topped with a bracketed hood. Inside, there is a plank and muntin door in the ground floor southwest room.
