Description

This barn, located approximately 5 meters north-west of the Old Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has doorways on the left and left of center, along with an eaves hatch to the right. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing square panels with three sections from the cill to the wall-plate, and long straight tension braces that divide the bays. The roof is a double-purlin design, spanning three bays and supported by raking struts that connect the tie beams to the principal rafters.
