Description
This barn, located approximately 50 meters south of Pond House Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. It features weatherboard and corrugated iron cladding over a timber frame, resting on a plinth made of roughly coursed limestone rubble and brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The barn has two levels, with five eaves hatches and three doors on the northeast side. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing square and rectangular panels, many of which have been renewed, along with long straight tension braces. The roof structure consists of a staggered single-purlin design spanning five bays, with raking struts extending from the tie beams to support the principal rafters.
