Description
No. 18 High Street is a house over a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a dentil course at the eaves, with a stone rear gable and a plain-tiled roof. The building has central and gable-end brick stacks and a layout that consists of a front range with a rear parallel wing.
The exterior is three storeys tall, with a two-storey rear wing. The street-facing side has four 6/6 sash windows with painted flat lintels and raised moulded keyblocks, and three 3/3 sash windows on the second floor. There is a projecting early 20th-century triple box bay window with glazed panelled shop doors beneath a deep fascia on the ground floor. To the left, there are glazed and panelled doors, and to the right, a window with a moulded hood over a raised moulded rendered fascia.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
