Description
This is a pair of houses, now converted into flats above two shops, dating from the 18th century with later alterations. The building is constructed of brick with corbelled dentil courses along the eaves and has a tiled roof with tile coping to the gables. There are two brick ridge stacks at the front. The houses form the front range, with a rear wing extending to the left.
The front of the building is a two-storey, four-window range featuring two-light mullion and transom windows with 20th-century lattice leaded lights and gauged brick lintels incorporating raised keystones. The ground floor has two 19th-century and one 20th-century canted bay windows, all with 20th-century leaded mullion and transom glazing. There are three moulded wooden doorcases, one central doorcase with a 20th-century door, and a glazed 20th-century door to the left, all beneath a 20th-century hipped tiled pentice roof. Five gabled dormers are visible, each containing restored two-light casements. The interior was not inspected.
The building is included on the list for its group value.
