Description
No. 36 High Street is a shop with a flat above, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of brick and features a dentil course at the eaves. The roof is slate, and there are integral brick stacks at both the gable end and the rear.
The exterior is three stories high and has a three-window range. The first floor has six-over-six sash windows, while the second floor has three-over-six sash windows, all with painted gauged brick lintels. The central entrance has a moulded wood doorcase flanked by plain pilasters, with panelled soffits and a top-light featuring margin lights above a six-panelled door. To the right, there is a double-fronted shop window with projecting box bays surrounding a glazed panelled door, all beneath a fascia and flat canopy. To the left, there is a 19th-century canted bay window with a three-over-six sash and half side sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
