Description

No. 17 High Street is an early 19th-century house built over a shop. It is constructed of brick with a dentil course to the eaves, and is rendered to the rear. The roof is slate-covered, with an integral brick gable-end stack.

The front elevation is three storeys high. It features two 6/6 sash windows with painted, gauged brick lintels. Second-floor windows have been altered in the 20th century. A 20th-century box bay window fronts the shop, alongside a central doorcase with a combined fascia. A 20th-century panelled door is set to the right, within what was originally a window opening. The rear elevation features a 20th-century semi-dormer and casement windows. The interior was not inspected.

The building is included on the list for its group value.
