Description

This horse trough and drinking fountain, dated 1900, is located on the north side of High Street in Cleobury Mortimer. It is made of marble and ashlar. The structure features a cylindrical column with incised bands that is topped with an ashlar cupola. A marble drinking bowl is set on the pavement side, and there is an inscription on the road side. The large horse trough, which has moulded sides, is positioned against the column on the road side. The inscription reads: "IN MEMORIAM / CAPT W H TROW / DIED IN SOUTH AFRICA 1900."
