Description
No. 7 Mill Street is a house that has been converted into offices and dwellings, dated 1727. It is constructed of brick with a plain tile roof, featuring a brick end stack and a stack at the rear. The building has a central staircase plan and is symmetrical, comprising two storeys, an attic, and a cellar. It has a seven-window range, with a central 8/8 sash window flanked by 6/6 sash windows, all set under gauged brick segmental arches. There is a storey band and a moulded and modillioned wood eaves-cornice. The building also has four 19th-century gable dormers, each with 2/2 sashes, enriched barge-boards, and finials. The central entrance features a six-panel door, adorned with an ornamented entablature and moulded pilasters, and is flanked by 6/6 sash windows under gauged brick arches, along with a storey band. Additionally, there are two rainwater heads, one embossed with "H 1727" and the other with "RBH 1727."
