Description
44 Mill Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a plain tile roof and features a brick end stack and a stack at the rear. The building is symmetrical, standing three stories tall with a cellar, and has a three-window range. The windows are 6/6 sashes set in broad cases, topped with gauged brick flat arches and painted stucco keyblocks on the first and second floors. The roof has a parapet with moulded stone coping.
The central entrance consists of a six fielded-panel door with an overlight that has glazing bars, all within a plain doorcase. This is topped by a moulded pediment hood supported by plain consoles and pilasters, and is flanked by the same 6/6 sash windows as above. The right side of the building features returned coping with a corbel.
