Description

Manse Cottage is an early 19th-century house situated on Mill Street in Ludlow. The building is constructed of brick, with a Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. It follows a central staircase plan and is two storeys and a cellar in height. The symmetrical front elevation features a two-window range. It has 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases, each set beneath a gauged brick flat arch. The central entrance has a six-panel door within a panelled case, topped by a moulded flat hood on pilasters, also flanked by 6/6 sash windows in similar detail. A canted return to Bell Lane incorporates 20th-century brickwork and a 6/6 sash window. The 2-storey and attic range returning along Bell Lane features a timber-framed upper storey with two gable dormers, an end stack, 20th-century leaded lights, and casements.
