Description
No. 9 Mill Street is an 18th-century house located in Ludlow. It is constructed of brick with a plain tile roof and features a brick stack at the rear. The house has a central staircase plan and is symmetrical, standing two stories tall with an attic and cellar. It has a five-window range, with early 20th-century four-over-four sash windows set in moulded cases beneath gauged brick segmental arches. There is a storey band and moulded wood eaves with modillions. The front has three gable dormers, each with two-light casements and moulded pediments.
Access to the house is via steps leading to a central six-panel door, which is topped by a moulded flat hood supported by pilasters with capitals. This door is flanked by similar sash windows under deeper gauged brick segmental arches, along with a storey band. The right gable features a brick front that is keyed into a rubble wall, with a brick corner stack at the rear. The twin-gabled rear range is primarily made of rubble and includes six-over-six sash windows and a two-light casement, all under brick segmental arches, along with a small fixed light and a 20th-century casement beneath a concrete lintel.
Inside, there is an 18th-century panelled room located on the ground floor to the right.
