Description
41 Mill Street is an 18th-century house located in Ludlow. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof with a shallow pitch at the rear, along with brick end stacks. The house has a central staircase and a double-depth plan, presenting a symmetrical façade over three storeys and a cellar, with a five-window range. The windows are 6/6 sashes set beneath gauged brick flat arches, and there is a storey band with similar sashes and settings above. The design includes a modillioned storey band and a parapet with stone coping and ornamentation.
The central entrance features an eight-fielded panel door with a fanlight, situated in a panelled round-headed doorcase. This is topped by a moulded flat hood supported by fluted pilasters. To either side of the entrance are 6/6 sashes under gauged brick flat arches, with a storey band above. To the left, there is a 19th-century plank door in a chamfered case under a segmental arch, which leads to a recessed two-storey wing. This wing has a 6/6 sash with broad glazing bars under a gauged brick flat arch on the first floor, brick modillion eaves, and a hipped plain tile roof.
