Description

Albion House is an 18th-century house located on Bridge Street in Kington. The building features dressed stone on the ground floor, with roughcast above, and has a slate or similar roof. It includes a brick stack at one end and another stack at the rear. The house is designed with a central staircase plan and stands three storeys high, with an attic and cellar.

The front has a three-window range, with a central 6/6 sash window flanked by paired 4/4 sash windows, all set in moulded cases on the first and second floors. There is a wood band and brackets at the eaves, and a central gable that features a Gothick glazed light, moulded bargeboards, and a weathercock above.

The main entrance consists of a four fielded-panel door with an ornamental fanlight, situated in panelled reveals and covered by a moulded wood flat hood supported by brackets and panelled pilasters. On either side of the entrance are paired 4/4 sash windows in moulded cases, and to the left, there is a six-panel door leading to a passage. The windows are noted to have old glazing, and the stone flat arches above them include keyblocks.
