Description

This is a shop and adjoining dwellings, dating largely from the 19th century but incorporating a late 17th or early 18th century core. The front facades are of roughcast stucco, with a Welsh slate roof displaying two different rooflines. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The left side features a four-panelled door with a barred overlight leading to a rear passage, and a late 19th-century shopfront with glazed and panelled doors and a bay window featuring 1/1 sash windows. A late 19th-century two-light casement in a moulded case is also present, along with two 20th-century casements. The right side has a canted bay window with 1/1 sashes, followed by 2/1 and 1/1 sashes, and then two 20th-century casements. Two flat hoods are above the windows. The rear passage contains exposed timber framing and a plastered ceiling. The rear of No. 62 has roughcast walls, a rubble stack with a brick chimney, and 19th and 20th century windows. The rear of No. 61 displays roughcast walls, a 9/9 sliding sash window on the ground floor set within a rubble wall, a pair of late 19th-century 2/2 sash windows on the first floor, and two 20th-century casements above. The interior reveals evidence of timber framing, and the roof was raised or altered in the 19th century.
