Description
No. 2 High Street is a shop and dwelling that has been converted into offices and flats. It was built in the early 19th century and restored in 1977. The building is constructed of stucco and features a composite tile roof. It stands three storeys tall and has a two-window range. The windows are 20th-century 6/6 sashes, positioned between pairs of pilasters with a moulded storey band. Above these, there are 3/6 sashes in similar settings, adorned with garlands along the eaves cornice. To the right, there are recessed panels, and the building has a leaded parapet.
The central entrance consists of a lozenge-glazed panelled door with a plain overlight, flanked by bow windows that have glazing bars, along with panelled risers and reveals. These are covered by moulded wood flat hoods supported by reeded pilasters. There is another entrance to the left, which is missing its door and has a plain overlight. The building features rusticated stucco beneath the moulded storey band.
