Description

46 and 46B Duke Street are houses that have been converted into a shop and a dwelling. They were built in the early 19th century and feature a stucco exterior with a composite tile roof. The building has three storeys and a two-window range. The windows are tripartite, with sashes arranged in a pattern of 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2, all set beneath moulded stone pediments supported by scrolled consoles, and connected by a cornice. There are also 20th-century 3/6 sashes present. A moulded stucco cornice runs along the eaves.

To the right, there is a doorway with a barred overlight and a similar tripartite window. A central 20th-century 4/4 sash is positioned between panelled pilasters and is topped with a moulded hood on enriched consoles, likely indicating a former doorway. To the left, a part-glazed 4-panel door with a plain overlight is set in panelled reveals, also between panelled pilasters and beneath a moulded hood on enriched consoles. The late 19th-century shop window features moulded glazing bars and there is an overall stucco storey band. At the rear, there is a roughcast gable to the wing and an additional wing with a stucco gable. The building is of one build with No. 47 Duke Street.
