Description
Mitre House consists of two houses, numbered 4 and 5, built in the early 19th century. The structure is made of stone rubble and features a composite tile roof, with plain tiles on the rear pitch. There is a 20th-century brick ridge stack and a brick end stack. The building has three storeys and a four-window range, with 20th-century two-over-two sash windows under stone flat arches, and additional two-over-two sashes above.
The entrances are located on the left side: No. 4 has a 20th-century glazed and panelled door alongside a two-over-two sash window, while No. 5 features a part-glazed 19th-century six-panel door and two 20th-century two-over-two sashes, all beneath stone flat arches.
At the rear, No. 4 has a wing with a steep pitched plain-tile roof, a reduced rubble stack with a 20th-century brick chimney, and 20th-century weatherboarding and casements. No. 5 has a painted rubble wing with a slate roof, featuring sash and casement windows under brick segmental arches.
