Description

A house, built in the early 19th century, now used as a launderette and flats. The front is rendered and has a Welsh slate roof, with a brick stack. It is three storeys high, plus a cellar, and has a two-window front. The first and second floors feature 6/6 sash windows in broad, moulded surrounds. A shopfront dating from the late 19th century was altered in the 20th century, with a modern door, overlight, and plate-glass windows, set beneath a moulded fascia board supported by fluted pilasters. The left return side is rendered with a weatherboarded gable. The rear incorporates two 8/8 sash windows in broad, moulded surrounds, overlooking a roughcast wing with a slate-hung gable. There are also two 19th-century leaded-light windows above a plank door (serving No. 47A) set within a simple architrave and overlight. A further wing, numbered 47B, is constructed of painted rubble with a stone tile roof and a composite stack. It has a 20th-century bay window and entrance. The building shares a common design with the adjacent property at No. 46.
