Description
The Midland Bank is a building that was originally a house, dating from the 18th century. It features a stucco finish over coursed rubble and has a slate roof with a brick stack at the rear. The structure stands three storeys tall and has a four-window range, with 18th-century 6/6 sash windows that have cambered heads, and square-headed 6/6 sashes in broad cases above, all with old glass. There is a moulded stucco band at the eaves.
The entrance is located to the left and consists of a 20th-century four-panel door with a plain overlight, framed by fluted stucco pilasters. To the right of the entrance is a late 19th-century 4/4 sash window, along with two bow windows that have glazing bars, which are also set between fluted pilasters and feature rusticated stucco.
On the right side of the building, there is an 8/8 sash window in a moulded case, along with various late 19th-century sashes. A 19th-century five-panel door with an overlight is situated under a moulded wood flat hood supported by pilasters. At the rear, there is a brick stack with a diagonal chimney and a 4/4 sash window in the gable.
