Description
40 and 41 Duke Street is a house that has been converted into cottages, dating from the late 16th century. It features a timber-frame and plaster construction with a Welsh slate roof that has a gable on the left side. There is a 19th-century brick stack on the left return side. The building is two storeys tall with a cellar and has a three-window range. This includes a late 20th-century leaded-light window, and to the left, there are two late 20th-century casements. The entrance to No. 41 is a late 20th-century plank door set in a modillioned case. To the left, there is a late 20th-century three-light leaded casement, and to the right, a late 20th-century glazed door and casement. The left return side is made of 19th-century brick. At the rear, there is a wing that is timber-framed and plastered, built over rubble, with a brick stack.
