Description
Nos. 5 and 6 High Street is a house that has been converted into shops and dwellings. It features a late 18th-century front with a 17th-century core. The building is made of brick and has a roof covered with Welsh slate and composite tiles on the left side, along with brick end stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a four-window range. The windows have 20th-century lights with casements, set under gauged brick flat arches that include moulded stucco keyblocks. The stone sills are missing from No. 5, and the building has rusticated brick quoins and dentilled eaves. The shopfronts are from the 20th century, featuring central entrances and a shallow canted bay on the right. There is a fascia board, and to the right, a plank door with a plain overlight leads to a passage at the rear, which has exposed timber framing.
