Description

No. 48 High Street is a shop and dwelling dating from the early 19th century. It features a stucco exterior over brick and has a slate roof with a brick stack at one end. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range, with 6/6 sash windows on the ground floor and 3/6 sash windows above. There are pilasters at the eaves-band. The shopfront, which is from the late 19th century, includes a central 20th-century door with a casement overlight, flanked by windows that have moulded cases and glazing bars. A moulded wood hood supported by scrolled consoles and fluted pilasters completes the front.
