Description

This is an 18th-century shop and dwelling with a 17th-century core, located in Kington. The front facade is rendered with roughcast, and the roof is covered in Welsh slate. The building is three stories high and has a two-window front. It features 18th-century eight-pane sashes, containing small panes of original glass, with damaged 18th/19th-century light fittings above. The eaves have boarded soffits. A late 19th-century shopfront is present, incorporating an entrance to the left with a glazed and panelled door and transom window, flanked by panelled pilasters. A shop window sits to the right of the entrance, with moulded glazing shafts. The right-hand entrance is framed by a moulded architrave, with a moulded cornice and hood supported by stop-consoles above. The interior, which has not been inspected, is noted to contain a chamfered ceiling-frame with run-out stops, exposed posts, and an open fireplace with an oak lintel.
