Description
Nos. 30, 31 and 32, Mill Street are a group of three early 19th-century brick houses. No. 30 has a lobby-entry plan and is of three storeys and a cellar, with a two-window front. It features 6/6 sash windows under segmental arches, with wrought iron window box guards, and 3/3 sashes above. The entrance has steps and a handrail leading to a six-panel door within a panelled case, topped by a moulded hood supported on fluted pilasters. No. 31 is also early 19th century and stands three storeys high. It has a single-window front, with a late 19th-century 2/2 sash under a segmental arch, a 6/6 sash above in a moulded case, and a 20th-century door and doorcase to the left, situated in a partly blocked opening. A further 6/6 sash is located to the right, both under gauged brick segmental arches. No. 32 is also early 19th century and of three storeys, with a two-window front. It has 6/6 sashes with broad glazing bars and moulded cases under gauged brick segmental arches, along with similar 3/3 sashes above. It is finished with moulded wooden eaves, a brick ridge stack, and a stack to the rear. The entrance is under a moulded hood resting on reeded consoles and pilasters, with two 6/6 sashes with broad glazing bars and moulded cases to the left, also under gauged brick segmental arches. A passage leads to a cottage at the rear.
