Description

Nos. 13 and 14 Tower Street are a pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, with some later alterations. No. 13 is finished in stucco, while No. 14 is constructed from pink and grey mottled brick in Flemish bond, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks.

The exterior features a three-storey facade with three windows. The central doorcase is flanked by attached fluted columns and includes a plain frieze and moulded cornice, with a six-panel door and a bordered overlight set back in a panelled reveal. Both houses have 20th-century shopfronts. The first-floor window of No. 13 is a 16-pane sash, while the second floor has one 20-pane sash and one 8-pane sash. No. 14 has two 12-pane sashes on each floor. All windows are adorned with channelled wedge lintels that have keyblocks and painted stone sills.

On the left return, the first and second floors feature 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills and painted flat arches. The interiors have not been inspected.
