Description
No. 7 Parliament Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built around 1797 and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a gable stack. It has a plinth, ground floor, and first-floor sill bands, along with a slab-coped parapet. The windows are topped with brick flat arches. The structure consists of three storeys plus a basement and attics, with a three-window range of plain sashes and three 9-pane sashes above. There is a renewed segment-headed dormer featuring a 2-light casement.
On the ground floor, to the right, there is a wooden doorcase with Ionic three-quarter columns leading to a round arched doorway with steps. This doorway contains a fielded six-panel door with a fanlight. To the left of the door, there are two 12-pane sashes, although their lower lights have been reglazed with single panes. Below these windows, there are two boarded-up openings leading to the basement.
