Description
No. 18 Parliament Street is a house, now used as offices, built around 1797. It is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a renewed gable stack. The building has a plinth, bands at the ground floor and first-floor sills, and a slab-coped parapet. The windows are adorned with brick flat arches. The structure stands three storeys tall, plus a basement and attics, and has a three-window range of 15-pane sash windows, with three 9-pane sashes above. There are also two shallow gabled dormers featuring 2-light casements.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a wooden doorcase with Doric three-quarter columns, a dentillated cornice, and a pediment. The round-arched doorway leads to a fielded six-panel door with a fanlight. To the right of the doorway, there are two 12-pane sash windows, and below, two plain sashes are located at the basement level.
