Description
No. 9 Parliament Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from around 1797. It is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a gable stack. The building has a plinth, ground floor, and first-floor sill bands, along with a slab-coped parapet. A lead rainwater pipe with a fluted head is present. The windows are adorned with brick flat arches, and the building stands three storeys tall plus a basement, featuring a three-window range of 15-pane sash windows and three 9-pane sash windows above.
On the ground floor, to the right, there is a wooden doorcase supported by Doric three-quarter columns and topped with a dentillated pediment. Steps lead up to a fielded six-panel door with a fanlight. To the left of the doorcase, there are two 12-pane sash windows. Below these windows, there are two pairs of close boarded doors leading to the basement, which also have brick flat arches.
