Description
No. 6 Parliament Street is a house, now used as offices, built around 1797. It is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a gable stack. The building has a plinth, bands at the ground floor and first-floor sill, and a slab-coped parapet. The windows are topped with brick flat arches. The structure is three storeys tall, plus a basement and attics, and has a three-window range of 15-pane sash windows, along with three 9-pane sashes above. At the top, there is a box dormer with a 3-light casement window.
On the ground floor, to the right, there is a wooden doorcase with Ionic three-quarter columns, a dentillated cornice, and a pediment. The round arched doorway has steps leading up to a fielded five-panel door with a fanlight. To the left of the doorway, there are two 12-pane sash windows, and below them, two 6-pane sashes in the basement.
