Description

This is a house, now used as offices, built around 1797. It was altered in the mid-19th century and the late 19th century. The ground floor and basement are rendered and painted, while the rest of the building is brick. It has painted ashlar dressings and a slate mansard roof with two gable stacks. A band at the level of the first floor windows runs across the front, and the roof has a flat coping. The windows are plain sashes, set within brick flat arches. The building is three storeys high, plus a basement and attics, and has a three-window front. The upper floors have nine-pane sashes, and there is a segment-headed dormer window with a triple plain sash. A late-19th century stone doorcase stands to the right, with granite pilasters and a cornice supported by fluted scroll brackets. The door itself is made of six fielded panels, with a triple round-headed overlight above it. Inside, the hallway is tiled with faience tiles. To the left of the doorway are two plain sashes. The basement windows have been blocked up.
