Description
No. 2 Parliament Street is a house, now used as offices, built around 1797. The ground floor was rebuilt around 1985. The building is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a single gable stack. It has a first-floor band and a slab-coped parapet. The windows are adorned with brick flat arches. The structure has three storeys plus attics and a three-window range of 15-pane sashes, which include wrought-iron balconies on brackets. Above these are three 9-pane sashes, and further up, there are two box dormers with plain sashes. To the right, there is a painted ashlar doorcase with Doric three-quarter columns and a cornice, leading to steps that rise to a 19th-century fielded six-panel door. To the left, there are two plain sashes.
