Description

This is a house, later used as offices, built around 1797 and altered in the 19th century. The house is constructed of brick with a painted brick basement and painted ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof and a renewed gable stack. It has a plinth, bands marking the ground floor and first-floor window sills, and a slab-coped parapet. The windows have brick flat arches. The building is three storeys high plus a basement and attics, and has a three-window front. The main part of the upper floors are occupied by plain sash windows, with three 9-pane sashes above those. A low-pitched gabled dormer is positioned above the main roofline, containing a 2-light casement window. A wooden doorcase with Ionic three-quarter columns and a dentil cornice and pediment frames the entrance door on the left-hand side. The doorway is round arched and has steps leading to a fielded 6-panel door with a blank fanlight above. To the right of the entrance are two plain sash windows. A double door leading to the basement is located below, featuring two glazed panels.
