Description
No. 11 Parliament Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built around 1797 and has undergone alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick, featuring a painted brick and rendered basement, painted ashlar dressings, and a slate roof with a gable stack. It has ground floor and first-floor sill bands, as well as a slab-coped parapet. The windows are adorned with brick flat arches and include a three-window range of 15-pane sashes and three 9-pane sashes above. There is a box dormer featuring a 20th-century casement window.
On the ground floor, to the right, there is a wooden doorcase with Doric three-quarter columns, a dentillated cornice, and a pediment. The round arched doorway has steps leading up to a 20th-century half-glazed door with glazing bars. To the left of the doorway, there are two 12-pane sashes. Below, to the left, is a 20th-century two-light casement, and to the right, there is a double board door with two barred openings. Inside, the building features a late 18th-century Classical wooden fireplace.
