Description

The Frere House is a house located on Church Street in Leominster, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof, featuring a brick end stack and a brick stack at the rear. The building has three storeys and a three-window range. The central opening is plastered, with 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases beneath stucco lintels that have keyblocks. Above, there is a blocked opening and additional 3/3 sash windows in moulded cases. The central entrance features a 20th-century six-panel door set back in panelled reveals with a moulded architrave, topped by a 20th-century restored moulded wood pediment hood. Flanking the entrance are 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases under stucco lintels with keyblocks. To the right, there is a 20th-century 6/6 horizontal casement window and brickwork above a garage door, which is in earlier brickwork. The right side of the building has three 6/6 sash windows above 18th-century brickwork with stepped pilasters. There is a wall to the north that extends for about 10 meters, featuring an 18th-century six-panel door in a wood doorcase with a moulded pediment on consoles. The interior has not been inspected.
