Description
Forbury Chapel, located on Church Street in Leominster, is a former chapel now used as a hall. It dates back to around 1282 and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of stone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with crested ridge-tiles. On the façade, there are three 19th-century lancet windows with trefoil heads and single transom bars. The entrance includes two 19th-century studded plank doors with ornate strap hinges, set beneath chamfered pointed ashlar arches. The chapel is supported by four stepped buttresses. On the right side, there is a three-light window within a moulded ashlar pointed arch. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain a late 15th or 16th-century hammerbeam roof, which is mostly concealed by a 20th-century ceiling.
