Description
No. 2 Broad Street is a shop and dwelling built in the 17th century and refronted in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a parapet at the roof and a brick axial stack. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The first and second floors have 20th-century 6/6 sash windows set under soldier arches, and the parapet has a concrete coping. The early 20th-century shop front includes glazed double doors with an overlight in a canted return to the right, plate-glass windows, a fascia board, and a moulded hood supported by stop-consoles. On the right side, which faces Church Street, there are four 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases on the first and second floors, along with a returned shop front and a 20th-century door with side screens. The interior has not been inspected.
