Outbuilding about 20 yards east of Woodseaves Farmhouse

GV II

Outbuilding. Late C16. Timber-framed and weatherboarded with stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing courses. T-plan; main range of four framed bays aligned north-east/south-west; wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors situated in south-west end bay. Intersecting cross-wing of three framed bays adjoins south-west end. North-west elevation: main range has three doors, two double doorways and a gabled dormer with a shuttered loft opening. There is a door and another loft opening in the cross-wing gable end. Interior: wall-framing has three rows of panels from sill to wall-plate and short straight upper corner braces. Collar and tie-beam end trusses (with struts and rails in main range) and arch-braced intermediate tie-beam trusses with two pairs of raking struts. Cross-wing has collar and tie-beam trusses with struts throughout. There are two tiers of trenched purlins. (RCHM, III, p 56, item 54).
