Description

Parsonage Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, with alterations made in the mid-to-late 20th century. It is timber-framed on a rubble base, with roughcast render and tiled roofs. A brick ridge stack is present. The main range comprises four bays aligned north-west to south-east, with a two-storey porch wing projecting from the north-east side. An intersecting cross-wing of two framed bays adjoins the south-east end and features an external painted rubble chimney with a brick stack on its south-east side. The farmhouse has a single storey and attic, with dormers. The external timber framing is not visible. The porch wing has a jettied first floor with turned pendant finials at the corners. The north-east front elevation has 20th-century casement windows. The main range has two ground floor cross-casement windows and two raking-top dormers; one dormer contains a cross-casement, and the other a single-light casement. The porch wing has a first floor single-light casement. The sides of the porch’s ground floor are open and fitted with turned balusters, with a 20th-century door. The cross-wing includes a ground floor and attic cross-casement window at its north-east gable end. The north-west end bay is likely a later addition and has a pair of 20th-century garage doors in its north-east elevation.
