Description

The Green is a house located in Eardisley, likely built between the late 17th century and early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The structure is timber-framed with painted brick infill set on a rubble base and features a concrete-tiled roof. It consists of two framed bays that run north to south. There is an external rubble chimney with tiled offsets and brick and rubble stacks at the south end, along with a later external chimney that has a rebuilt brick stack at the north end. The house is a single storey with an attic that includes a dormer.

The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces in the lower outer corners of the upper outer panels, and collar and tie-beam trusses with struts. The east front elevation has windows that are all 2-light 20th-century casements, featuring plank weatherings on the ground floor. There are three ground floor windows and a 20th-century raking-top dormer with two 2-light windows. The main entrance is located in the south bay and features a gabled canopy supported by straight timber brackets, along with a 20th-century door. Attic lights are present in the gable ends. At the rear, there is a large 20th-century single-storey flat-roofed extension.
