Description
Longacre Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is timber-framed, with sections of painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, a sandstone plinth, and a painted sandstone stack that includes a bread oven. The roof is slate and hipped to the north. The cottage has two framed bays that are aligned north to south and face east, with a circular bread oven located at the south gable end. It stands two storeys high and features two windows with 2-light cross casements, along with irregular 2-light windows on the ground floor. There is a 20th-century partly glazed door in the gable end. The framing of the cottage is largely complete, though it has been altered, consisting of four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with diagonal braces extending from the sill to the main posts.
