Description
Old Court Farmhouse is a former manor house that belonged to the Bishops of Hereford, now serving as a farmhouse. It has a core structure dating from the 15th century, with additions from the 17th century, and underwent significant alterations in the mid-19th century. The building features a sandstone earlier wing with later brick modifications and a tiled roof, presenting an irregular plan. The early wing is aligned east to west and faces south, while the later addition extends to the north and further to the east. A large central stack is located on the south wing, with entrances at the center of the east front and at the rear. The farmhouse is two storeys high; the east front shows the gabled end of the earlier wing to the left, which has a sash window, and French casements on the ground floor. The later range to the right includes three windows, a tripartite sash window with segmental brick heads, and a smaller central window, along with a forward projecting gabled porch that has a panelled door. Inside, the east room of the south wing features a fine moulded plaster ceiling and arch-braced collar and tie-beam trusses.
