Description
Grove Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations and an addition made in the 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a roughcast rendered exterior, topped with a plain tiled roof. The cottage features an external red brick stack at the right gable end and an internal stack at the left gable. It has two storeys and a two-unit plan with a central passage. The front includes three timber-framed bays, with a chimney bay on the left gable. There is a boarded door, two leaded light casement windows on the ground floor, and three leaded light casement windows on the first floor. Inside, the cottage has exposed timber framing and stop-chamfered floor beams. The left room contains a red brick open hearth, with recesses on either side that form closets.
