Description

Claggy Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It has a timber frame with a roughcast ground floor and weatherboarded upper floor, topped by a concrete tile roof. The building features a 1:2 bay arrangement with a rebuilt stack located at the left center and an external red brick stack at the right gable end, which is flanked by a 18th-century tiled lean-to. The cottage stands two storeys high and has two glazing bar casements on the front elevation and three on the rear. Inside, there are exposed chamfered ceiling beams and an inglenook fireplace, along with some 18th-century plank doors set in architrave frames.
