Description

Swifts Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage, originally built as a pair, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber-framed structure with roughcast rendering and a plastered plinth. The cottage has a central red brick ridge stack and a half hipped thatched roof. It is one storey with an attic, and each cottage originally had a two-unit plan with an open hearth and a baking oven, though these have been modified. The exterior includes two panelled doors, one casement window, and one horizontal sliding sash window, along with two eyebrow dormer windows. Inside, the cottage showcases exposed timber framing and a floor frame, as well as a boxed staircase located at the south-west end.
