Description
This is a barn located about 25 yards north-west of Hill Farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame covered with weather-boards, topped with a slate roof. The barn has five bays arranged in a north-west to south-east orientation. The central bay has a segmentally-headed cart entry, while there is a ledged door on the right side. The frame consists of two panels, with the lower panel being rectangular and the upper panel square. Inside, there are triple angle struts supporting the trusses on either side of the threshing floor. The gable ends have three posts that rise from the ties to collars, which support V-struts. Hill Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
